Mailer IDs
We’ve had a great flow of traffic at our booth this week, and I’ve talked to a lot of people who attended some of the education sessions. Some of the confusing things that have come up:
Mailer IDs - The USPS backed off on a process flow that required everyone to go to the Gateway in order to get a Mailer ID. At RIBBS MID page:
http://ribbs.usps.gov/index.cfm?page=intellmailmailidapp
There is now an Exception process for Mailing Agents to be able to request a Mailer ID on behalf of their customer. The process includes a paper document so you don’t have to do it via the Gateway.
Something I want to clarify for mailers here - and please contact me with any questions on this, or if you are getting contradictory guidance from the USPS - Mailers DO NOT have to have THEIR Mailer ID on the mailpieces. In our case, we are a Confirm subscription service provider, and Mailers using OUR Mailer ID on the piece will NOT have to pay the $2500 Confirm delegate charge. That charge WILL come into play if the mailer uses their own Mailer ID.
National Postal Forum
Coming to you today from the Exhibit Hall at the National Postal Forum -
Although attendence is down, the National Postal Forum is in full swing and making the best of things. Attendees are asking great questions, and are learning a lot at the educational sessions offered by the Postal Service. Our booth has been steady, with a lot of folks stopping by to learn more about OneCode Confirm and OneCode ACS. Networking opportunities abound.
I’ll be here through Wednesday, please stop by our Booth, #862, and say hello.
National Postal Forum
I will be in Washington DC next week exhibiting at the National Postal Forum. If you are there, come and say hello, I will be in the intelisent booth, #862. Look for some live blogging from the show floor.
Intelligent Mail Symposium at NPF
There will be two separate session offerings for those folks who will be attending the National Postal Forum in May. This is the write up from today’s PCC Insider:
Learn all there is to know about Intelligent Mail services. Technological advancements in mail processing and the demand for high visibility throughout this process have led to the implementation of the new Intelligent Mail barcode through basic and full-service options. Adopting the full-service option will give you the lowest level of discount for presorted mail.
This symposium along with related workshops will provide a practical understanding of what’s required for your organization to take advantage of this technology so you can begin to enjoy the best discounts the Postal Service offers.
Choose from two sessions:
Sunday, May 17, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday, May 20, 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
My company, intelisent, will be exhibiting at NPF - please stop by out booth and say hello!
National Postal Forum Booth 862
My company will be exhibiting at the National Postal Forum in Washington DC May 17-20. Please be sure to stop by with any questions about Intelligent Mail, OneCode Confirm, and OneCode ACS services.
